Production is finally set to begin on a two-year
long quest to create the ultimate Mustang. Price is expected to start around
$120,000, including the base Mustang. Deliveries are expected to begin early
spring with a six-speed manual gearbox coming standard along with an option for
an automatic transmission.
The release on Galpin’s website state: “Galpin Auto
Sports (GAS) and Henrik Fisker announced today the start of low volume
production on the 725 hp coach built super Mustang dubbed “The Rocket,” which
was first unveiled as a prototype last November during the 2014 Los Angeles
Auto Show. The first production model will make it world debut t the Amelia
Island Concours d’Elegance, March 2014, where a select number of media will
also have the opportunity to drive it. Production of the car by Galpin and
Henrk Fisker represents the enthusiasts alike after the car received a positive
reception in Los Angeles last year.”
Buyers will be able to choose between the coupe that
debuted the LA Auto Show or a convertible option that was on display at the
2015 Pebble Beach Concourse d’Elegance. Both option will feature Brembo beaks
and a supercharges V8 engine delivering
a power output of 25 hp.
